Wanna-be Bollywood star a big hit on the MRT
The MRT train carriage is this man’s stage as he puts on an
entertaining Bollywood-worthy performance for his fellow
commuters.
Spotted several times by netizens who’ve seen his video, the
man’s popularity is soaring on social media websites such as
YouTube and Facebook.
In the videos, the backpack-carrying man is usually seen
standing next to the train doors as he loudly dishes out his
rendition of Tamil songs. He’s not afraid of getting a little jiggy
too as he uses the poles along the side of the train doors as
props.
Amused passengers on the train can be seen holding back laughter
as the man, who looks like he’s in his late twenties, goes into a
trance-like state and belts out tunes, oblivious to those watching
in shock.
His classic pose? A hip-thrusting, back-arching stance as he
throws his head back, eyes closed, as if to soak in the adulation
of his army of fans.
In the above video, which has garnered over 36,000 hits since
March this year, a lady can be heard to say, “He reeks of alcohol
by the way.”
However, the performances appear to be well-received by many
netizens.
koosmangat on YouTube says, “I think he is having a life… not
like the rest of us rigid people.”
tripleterrific concurs, “At least he is not blowing up buildings
and trains… just living a happy life.”
Well, nothing like an entertaining performance on the trains
brighten up a dreary day, right?
